Today was the best day of the Healthy Living Challenge so far! I began by updating the blog about yesterday’s activities. That is good for my mental side of things. When I stop blogging, that’s usually when it’s time to take notice. More blogging = Happy Stephen. Of course as soon as I got to the part about the cookies, I immediately had to go have one. Perfect breakfast!
Actually today was more of a brunch day. I diced up a couple of potatoes, threw on the secret spice from Bakersfield, cooked bacon and eggs and even toast for the roomie and myself. Hey, he does all the heavy lifting around here. I’ll give him a good meal when I can.
I moved some some furniture around (still trying to define my space within these walls) and decided that I needed to soak in the tub for a bit. At some point I fell asleep in there. It’s always a strange feeling to wake up in water. One of these days…
I skipped supper. I wasn’t very hungry and didn’t feel like eating “just because”. Instead, I went for a drive. It was a fantastic drive. I ended up stopping along the river, and going for a walk. Not only did I get a little exercise, but I got to target my mental and emotional health as well. The walk was amazing, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
Now it’s 10:30 at night, and I’m hungry. I know that I shouldn’t have a meal this late, so I am going to try the almonds again. I also have some watermelon in the fridge that I should eat.
Oh, and make pickles. I’ve got to start making those pickles tonight!
I’m still singing…
