When I first created this blog last year, I used Google’s Blogger system. When I applied for Google’s AdSense Pay-Per-Click program, I was accepted immediately without any problems. I don’t know if that’s because I was using the Blogger platform, and they like all things Google, or not. Now that I’m using a WordPress backend, and applying for an AdSense account as a business entity, it seems impossible to get their approval. I’ve applied a couple of times, and been denied each time. Now when I tried to log into the AdSense system, I see that my account has been disabled, yet no email has been sent as to why. I’m guessing that it’s because I’ve applied several times, and on my last application they simply decided to shut it off.
What bothers me the most is that in the USA, apparently approval is automatic. It’s only outside the USA that you have to jump through hoops. I’m considering opening an office across the border. I’ve looked at other PPC networks, but they don’t even seem to be available to people outside the USA. Gotta love that.
So I’m going to be re-tooling one of the sites and create yet another Google username to see what happens. If they continue to deny that, then I will have to find a way to create a business address in the USA, or eliminate PPC advertising revenue from the business plan.
Google is great for many things. But they’re still far from perfect.
