I decided to try the new lasagna from Tim Horton’s. I wasn’t expecting greatness. Good thing, because that’s far from what I got.
When I first heard that they were coming out with lasagna, I had an image in my head of layered noodles over meat and cheese… you know… LASAGNA! If that’s what you’re looking for, allow me to dispel that for you right now. This lasagna is nothing more than an over-priced microwave Michelina clone. I keep a couple of those in the freezer at work for when I’m desperate. Can’t go wrong for $0.99. But this meal from Tim’s was over $8! That included a canned 7-up, and a piddly little garlic toast.
The first few bites of the lasagna actually weren’t horrible. I tweeted that it was “good, not great”… but it didn’t take long for it to start wearing on me. I had ordered the large, which was obviously a mistake, since I wasn’t going to finish it. A little over half way through I ran out of garlic toast and 7-up… that was it for me! I pitched the rest of it in the garbage, and sent out a follow up tweet.
I have no idea if the lasagna will stay on their menu or not. From what I’ve read online, it’s not getting good reviews, but it’s human nature for the people who aren’t happy with something to be more vocal than those who do like it. So maybe we’re in the minority. I dunno. I think I’ll just stick with their chili, which isn’t half bad if you’re looking for something warm.
