It had to happen sooner or later. The treadmill couldn’t possibly sit upright in the corner of the living room forever, could it? Surely there would come a time when the realization that it has become a very expensive clothes hanger would finally force me to take some form of action. Sell it? Give it away? Take it out back and bury it?
Last night was the night.
30 mins (and 201 calories burnt) later I was hoping that the Mayans were right about 2012. And sooner rather than later!
This morning my legs are killing me. I’m not shocked by that. My arms are sore though, and that seems a little odd, but I guess everything is connected somehow.

So, the question is…did you get on it again or are the clothes now hanging on it again?
ha ha! Weak I tell ya! Try doing a Body Combat or Body Attack aerobics class at the gym then having to constantly pick your 10kg (that’s about 22 pounds I think ??) baby up all day because he’s teething and has a cold so he’s being really clingy to his Mum!
I have HUGE ARM MUSCLES!!! (well not that huge, but more than enough for me…)
Body attack tomorrow. I was meant to be in Body combat this morning, but some little critter decided to snooze right through it! *grrrr* I really like that class too.
Good luck with your treadmill! *hugs*
We are waiting for an update. Did you get back on, or did you get your exercise digging a grave for this in the back yard and just bury it?
That would explain why his arms hurt Steve
I wish i had the room to have either a treadmill or eliptical in my house. Driving across town to work out for an hour on machines that are consistently broke suxxxxx. The machines do have built in tv’s. 9 times out of 10 they do not work.
Do NOT count the Mayans out yet? With everything that is going on in the world, drought, famine, recessions, wars….I think the Mayans may have known more than we think. But I will stop now. I am a little obssessed with that culture since I visited the ancient village of Tulum and climbed a pyramid in Mexico, (now, there’s a workout!!).
Good luck with the workout(s). It becomes mind numbing after a while..
If he buried it, I’d driving right out there and digging it back up! I’ll use it!
Good for you Steve! I’ve been using mine almost every day! I challenge you to a treadmill duel ! To the death!… No.. lets do to the pain, that’s a lot safer! To the Pain!
Yeah… notice that there haven’t been any follow-up posts?
What is to follow up, I think he was giving you a challenge.
You should start on it.. start with 5 mins the first day, than 10 for a few days, then 15 for another 2 days.. after a week you’re at 20 minutes and it DOES NOT seem at all bad. I watch Daily Show or something else like that when I am on it and I am up to 20 minutes now without a problem. I think I’ll eventually work my way up to 45 minutes like Joanne does. I’m using it about 4-5 times a week. Eventually I’m going to be doing it 7 times a week.
Start small, if your treadmill has a lift that lets it go up an incline I find setting the incline higher and keeping the speed lower burns as much calories as a low incline @ high speed and it is MUCH easier to keep up with. I’m hoping to get my speed up to 4 mph, I am at 3mph now and it’s pretty easy.. I started at 2 mph @ no incline, now I am at 3 mph @ 7 incline, in about a 2 week period.
